Indian weddings in Malta - organised by Helen

So lovely and full of detail. Three whole days full of celebrations.

Day one: the Mehndi is the day full of colors, fun and joy. All decorations and tents are in beautiful bright colors. Food is plentiful, a mixture of Mediterranean and Indian Buffet, and is usually held on one of our beautiful sandy beaches that are dotted along the Island. Everyone dances barefooted to great Indian tunes, while the sun sets quietly on the background. The ladies treat themselves to a lovely Hanna tattoo, watching a beautiful display of fireworks.

Day Two: the Pithi Ceremony is more of a private ceremony held by the family of the couples. This is usually done at the accommodation of the couples, where family members rub Turmeric and other delicious spices all over the couples bodies as a sign of purification. Yellow and white are the dominating color used for decor.

Day three: the Hindu wedding itself!

Sometimes, we are at the venue at 5:00am to set the beautiful Mendap for the lovely couple. Beautiful flowers and sheer sheets help make the setting look so sacred. At 9.30am, guests start arriving soon after the groom, as the last person to arrive is the bride. The atmosphere is electrifying, the sound of the dolh musicians and the gun powered colorful cannons creates an aura of blessings. Once the Hindu wedding is over and all rituals carried out, an authentic Indian buffet is served.

In the evening the legally binding wedding ceremony takes places! A massive wedding reception follows, and the guests then party the night away.

It is truly a magical experience, and we are privileged to work and plan such weddings!
